Blame those crazy hippies !
Great morning whole world :)
Got the movies ?
Sitting in the brand new Starbuck coffe in Prague, expecially couple of things caught mi mind:
1. Blame those damm hippies!
What a great statement by Mr. McGuinness - the manager of U2, by the way:
"....McGuinness, speaking at the Midem music industry trade show in France, offered a variation on the conference's theme this year -- that the industry's business model has gone to hell and it's someone else's responsibility to save it, preferably Internet service providers and large tech companies (I paraphrase). Part of the reason Silicon Valley companies don't see it that way, he said, is that their minds are still clouded by the peace-love-and-sharing ethics of their forebears. "Embedded deep down in the brilliance of those entrepreneurial, hippie values seems to be a disregard for the true value of music," he said, which is funny because you rarely see the phrase "entrepreneurial, hippie values," and disturbing because, like many, he confuses "value" with "price."

GREAT, isn't it:
entrepreneurial, hippie values especially caught my attention :)
2. The new way to convert power from solar panels energy from DC -> AC thus making ready for the grid and, as said in this News.com article, more efficient. What % ? Didn't state yet, but hey...let's watch and see !
3. The guys behind the gas...oops...ethanol
Bugs in our industry, we don't like, they crouch into ours (yours, I got Mac:)) computers and distroy, but in the Ethanol producing business they seem to be the cure for our big troubles with producing ethanol from corn, soy beans and thus cutting down rain forests in Brazil and hiking up the prices of food in US, Europe and everywhere. Which I see as great anyway, may we will start to finally appreciate the food.
But these guys from the Valley seem to find the cure. They use the bugs, exactly the bacteria found in the tummy of small, nice creatures you all love and would love to invite to your house for breakfest - the termites :)
"..... ZeaChem's "secret sauce," according to co-founder and research executive vice president Dan Verser, is both how it breaks down biomass - waste wood from poplar trees at first - as well as how it uses wood residue to produce the hydrogen it mixes with ethyl acetate to make ethanol.
One key: A bacteria commonly found in the gut of a termite or in pond scum helps convert the trees to fuel. "Our bug is very tough," said Jim Imbler, ZeaChem's president and chief executive officer...."
